The Australian National University (ANU) recognizes that your privacy is very important to you. As an agency within the meaning of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), ANU complies with the obligations of the Privacy Act to protect the integrity of your personal information. ANU has a privacy policy that sets out how the ANU deals with personal information and you can contact us about how your personal information at privacy@anu.edu.au to make a complaint or enquiry about ANU privacy practices.

 

The Butterflies Australia website and mobile apps (Butterflies Australia Service) is owned and operated by the ANU. The Butterflies Australia Service is hosted for and on behalf of the ANU by an external cloud services provider. All customer data including any personal information is stored securely within Australia.

 

If you wish to use the Butterflies Australia Service you will be asked to set up an account. When you register an account with and use the Butterflies Australia Service you will requested to submit information including, but not limited to, the following personal information: (a) an email address; (b) a username; (c) a password; (d) a secret question (Registration Data).

 

Any data, including personal information, you submit to the Butterflies Australia Service: may be used by the ANU and its employees and subcontractors, acting as a data processor, to perform the Butterflies Australia Service.

 

The ANU will not otherwise disclose your personal information without your consent unless required or authorised by law.

 

If you do not wish to provide your consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your personal information as described in this Privacy Statement, you will not be able to register and use the Butterflies Australia Service.
